Moving off Diigo? Bring your tags and annotations, not just the links.
Export your Diigo library as one CSV file and upload it as-is. Cowpin keeps your tags and descriptions, and turns your comments and highlighted passages into each bookmark's notes.
14-day free trial, no card required, and you can export everything back out - as JSON, HTML or XML - whenever you want.
How the move works
- 1
Export from Diigo
In Diigo, open Tools, choose Export your library and pick CSV. Diigo emails you the file when it is ready, or you can download it from the Export History page.
- 2
Start your free Cowpin trial
Sign up with Google or an email address. No card, no waiting list.
- 3
Upload the CSV file
Open Settings, then Bookmarks, then Import, and drop the file in. Cowpin recognises Diigo's CSV and reads it directly - no conversion step.
What comes across
Diigo's CSV is the richest export it offers. Here is exactly what survives the move.
- Every saved link and its title
- Your Diigo tags, as Cowpin tags
- Your descriptions, as each bookmark's blurb
- Your comments and highlighted annotations, together in each bookmark's notes
- Original save dates, when your export includes them
- Nothing is sent to Diigo or anyone else - the file goes straight from your browser to your Cowpin account
The honest version
Diigo's strength is annotating pages as you read them, and Cowpin does not replace its in-page highlighter or its groups. What Cowpin gives you is a fast, tag-based library with full-text search, an open Pinboard-compatible API, and an export that always works. Your Diigo annotations arrive as notes you can read and search, not as highlights painted back onto the page.
