How the move works

Export from Pocket
If you already have your Pocket export, that is all you need. Mozilla's final export arrives by email as a zip holding one CSV per 10,000 saves; older exports are a single file named ril_export.html. Cowpin reads both — unzip first and upload the CSVs one at a time.

Sign up with Google or an email address. No card and no waiting list.

Upload the file
Open Settings, then Bookmarks, then Import, and upload the HTML file Pocket gave you. Your saves and tags land in your library.
What comes across
Pocket's export carries less than Pinboard's does, so here is exactly what survives - and what does not.
- Every saved link and its title
- Your Pocket tags, kept as Cowpin tags
- Items still in your unread list arrive flagged read-later
- Items in your Read Archive arrive without that flag
- Saves are private by default unless you choose otherwise
- Everything stays exportable, as JSON, HTML or XML
What Pocket's export does not include
Pocket's export file is a list of links, tags and timestamps. It does not contain the article text Pocket had saved for you, and no tool can recover that from the export alone - so imported items arrive as plain links. Cowpin archives a readable copy of every page you save from here on, and you can archive an imported link on demand to capture the ones you care about. That is the honest trade: your list moves intact, your old offline copies do not.
